Semana 13 - 29/03/12

Las Ondas
Hay 3 tipos de ondas mecánicas

Transversal Onda

  1. Longitudinales - la dirección de la propagación de la onda y las particules un vibran lo hacen en la misma dirección.  Para sonido.
  2. Transversales - vibran perpendiculares - mente a la dirección de propagación de la onda.
  3. Torsionales - esta onda se propaga de la forma que provoca una flexión o torsión sobre el medio en el cone se propaga.









Diagrama de la onda

  • Generalmente en una onda hay una máxima elongación o las crestas y los valles
  • Nodos son a la posición de equilibrio cuando la onda cruza este posición
  • El longitud de la onda es desde cresta a cresta o valle a valle (one wavelength)

  • Esta diagrama montra un ciclo
  • Una perioda o tiempo de una onda es por cada ciclo (Tiempo en segundos)
  • La frecuencia para una onda (f) es # de ciclo ÷ el tiempo (s). En hertz.
  • La fase es la dirección del movimiento de los puntos de la onda. 
  • Una onda= longitud de la onda (metros) ÷ tiempo (seg)= longitud x (f) 
  • O (f)= 1÷ tiempo
Función de Onda:
Y(t)= Asin(wt+(fase))
  • Cuando Y=la onda y t=tiempo
  • A=Amplitud
  • sin=función trig
  • w=frecuencía (la omega)

  • In my hometown of Montana I am thoroughly involved in a club at my school that supports and strives for the equality of women's rights. Because this topic interests me, I believe this ted talk is inspirational for the future of womens possibilities worldwide. Miss Gbowee tells stories of her interactions with the abused society of women within Africa. She discusses how extreme the inequality is there from getting education to a simple form of respect. Although recently young women are striving to break this habit and achieve their dreams- many being to get an education.

Semana 12 - 23/03/12

Ted Talk
  • Taylor Wilson: Yup, I built a nuclear fusion reactor

  • This first caught my eye because Taylor Wilson is a 17 year old boy who is creating devices (such as a nuclear fusion reactor) that advanced scientists have not produced yet. At the young age of 12 Taylor started to create and experiment with building such things. His greatest success so far was produced at the age of 14 which is his nuclear fusion reactor. More recently he has created scientific tools that have been broadly implemented in numerous facilities for home security and medicine. Taylor, as he is such a young individual should be an inspiration for young people and be a beacon of hope for a bright future.

  • Nina Jablonski, "rompe la ilusión del color de piel"
  • Interestingly enough there is actually a difference between people with different skin color. Ms. Jablonski talks about how the differences of certain substances such as vitamin D between white (lighter colored skin) people and darker people causes different deficiencies. For example darker skinned people are born with more melanin which naturally protects their skin from the light rays. Even though they have a surplus of melanin they have a deficiency of vitamin D because of their immunity to the sun. It is exactly the opposite for light skinned people.

Ley cero de la termodinámica

  • Si un cuerpo "A" está equilibrio térmico con cuerpo "C" y un cuerpo "B" está en equilibrio térmico con "C"

Leyes de la termedinámica

  1. 1 ley - Modinámica -> W=Fxd = |f||d| cos
    • cambio en U= cambio en Q - W = (El cambio en energía interna de un sistema es igual al cambio de calor menos el trabajo producto)
  2. 2 ley - Un límite en la cautidad de trabajo que se puede obtener en una máquina térmica.
  3. 3 ley - Entropía <---> Entalpía
    • la entropía de un solido cristalino puro puede tomarse como cero a la temperatura del cero absoluto
    • la entalpía = medida del orden entras moleculas de un sistema termodinamica
3 Leyes V. termodinámica

    • si TA=TB ->proceso isotermico

  • Paul Gilding preforms a fascinating speech that should truly interest everyone on the planet, the topic of how our Earth is overflowing. In the last 60 years the world population has doubled making many resources very scarse to extinct. This growth is supposed to continue into our future therefore bringing to our concern on how to maintain our Earth which we love. Paul discusses many terrifying consequences if we carry on with the way most people live. From no drinkable water to a toxic world of trash. He also informs of a hopeful ways to slow and hopefully sop this process.

Calor Latente

  • Cuando una sustancia se funde ose evapora absorbe cierta cantidad de color





Calor latente de Fusión (calor de fusión) 
  • El calor requerido para este cambio en el estado físico del agua sin que exista variación en la temperatura



Calor latente de vaporización (calor de vaporización) 
  •  este calor necesario para cambiar de estado sin variar de temperatura

  • Because consciences is how everyone functions, this topic interests me to discover how exactly we are conscience. To scientists consciences has always been lives mystery. Current technology has helped us explore this topic, clearing up the question, although leaving it still questionable. To have conscience is considered being able to have a flow of mental images and having a "self" or Self of mind. Different parts of the brain respond to image making relating closely with how we are able to achieve consciences. As for our "self" there's an element of continuity that is responsive to our inner self controlling our action and being awake in consciences. Besides simply solving the mystery of consciences scientists are now drived to answer this ongoing mystery from  driving curiosity,  to help advance in medicine and to help understand our society person to person with consciences.
