Tianguis de Física

  • This week we experienced the "Tianguis de Física" through conducting simple experiments.
  • Through my understanding "tianguis de física" is method through teaching to get young people interested and undertand the concepts of physics. By conducting these simple experiments one can learn a concept at a more broader stance, then once this spectrum is understood it is easier to get more in depth with that specific concept making the learning process clearer with les confusion.
  • Originally a "Tianguis" was an open air market within towns which sold a wide variety of goods. There are still "tianguis's" today but they are more referred to as markets/ mercados. This word applies to physics because through this method it is implied that they're are a wide variety of ways along with questions to help one understand physics, just like the amount of different types of goods you can buy at a "tianguis".

Experimentos

Ted Talk

  • Very interesting concept on combining biology with technology. This women, Lucy McRae, is inspired to figure out ways to modify the human body in order to positively transform our human evolution. With the help from other scientists Ms. McRae has designed a perfume which you take orally so when you perspire the scent comes from your pores! Crazy! She also mentioned how she is interested in designing ways against aging, which would be highly popular if completed.
